Is it complusory to change gear box oil at 100,000 km?

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

I am assuming your are talking about a manual? The dealer has told me it does not have to be changed. I am going to change mine at 75k (miles) anyways.

Not sure about auto's or SMG's. Someone else will have to answer that. I always change auto fluids much more often.
