If the stealership is desperate and you get exactly what you want..do it! CPO 07 550i for $29K is a no-brainer, IMO.
No brainer for me too, but no way he's getting $27K for his car for a trade in - that's dreaming

theyll probably only give u like 18k(high) for your trade in, trade in value sux bad right now, and trust me they dont want your car to get rid of another one, then they still have to deal w/ your old car and that pretty much puts the dealer right back in the same sitch.. too many cars. it would be better for them to just try and sell the 550i to someone else. i had this same discussion a month ago in almost an identical situation w my 06 525, they were only gonna give me 15k for it! no way ill drive it till the wheels fall off!!! lol the preowned sales manager is actually a friend of mine to and he still couldn't pull any strings! things are bad right now.. so i understood. not that i liked it!!

I guess sometimes things are too good to be true....
The salesman called me and said theres been a mistake....the price of the 550i isn't $29,000...its actually $38,000!
And yes, that is the car on the link above (BMW of Riverside).

If that's the case they need to sell it to you for $29K, they advertised it for that and they HAVE to sell it for that. Scott!!! Where are you when we need you!! Isn't that false advertising? Similar to the cheesy used car lots that advertise a fantastic deal and no matter when you show up it's been "SOLD" - the old bait and switch, one of the oldest cons. Truly disgusting for a BMW dealer to stoop to these tactics.

sadly enough, they dont HAVE to sell it. They always have those microscopic words somewhere that says prices are subject to change. I hate those.

This is not my area of legal experience but I would think that with that sort of disclaimer, the Stealership is covered. Nonetheless, I would call the dealership and discuss with the General Manager. When I buy cars I only negotiate price with the General Manager or the General Sales Manager -- never with the salesman. If the GM still wants to screw you, I would tell him that you will be contacting BMWNA immediately to file a complaint about a deceptive sales practice. And if the GM does not budge, I would do that.
Almost $40K for a 550 with over 50K miles is not a good deal IMHO.
