I have an 05 530i and I am thinking about getting rid of it. I found a 09 535i turbo and am trying to see if there are any major issues with the turbo. I have had the 05 E60 for 5 years and think its time for a change. I know its not a big change but something with more options and a different color. Please let me know your opinions.

I found someone to buy my car for $15000 and I found the 535i for 21000 out the door with 38000 on the ticker. I am getting what I wanted all along in the car. I just need to know engine wise is there anything I need to pay close attention to. I think I am getting a good deal on there car.

well, that dont sound like a bad deal.
the main thing that goes wrong with the turbo cars, is the HPFP high pressure fuel pump, but i believe bmw may have finally worked the kinks out, and i think they warranty all pumps for 100k miles.
do it!

I will check to make sure the warranty work has been done. Is there anything else out there I should be aware of in these vehicles.

Software upgrade for turbo lag. I can fix that up for you if it hasn't already been done. Reeves or Fields will charge about $350 for that job UNLESS you're buying from them then use it as a bargaining tool. And don't believe them, get an ISTA printout. And if they do decide to do it, ask that John does it. This is all assuming you're buying from them. If not let me know and I can take care of the software for you.
