Shouldn't this be in the Loaner Car thread? Or perhaps under the title "Let's see how many posts Scott can get out of his own thread?" So far it's 6 out of 12!
Are you saying he's a post whore?

Compare 4700 posts in 5 months versus my 1100 in 2 1/2 years.
Seriously, yes 4,700 posts is a lot in 5 months. Not quite at the level of pingy in his prime but a lot nonetheless. I've had a great time here and I hope that I have contributed at least a little something to these forums.

sorry to hear scott hope it all works out for you =)
In the meanwhile I am really shocked by how much I dislike driving the 528. I think that having a 550, a M45 and a 540 before that spoiled me on power. Overall, I have owned or leased 5 cars with a V8 (a Ford Mustang LX 5.0 and an Infiniti Q45t in addition to the three mentioned before. That makes me a V8 power addict. I am salivating to get my hands on the F10 TTV8 (hopefully in 550-600 bhp M5 form although the 400 bhp 550 form isn't too shabby either).

Scott, I sure hope you get your 550 back by the 21st! And DEFINITELY by the 22nd! But hey, if anything, I'll be "riding light" that week anyway, so I you can come with me to the meet
I'm just glad you didn't take the car to some retarded dealership, like Life Quality, that can't fix Stan's 535 for 4 months already!
Let's take the 528 on rt 125 and see if you can hang with me now! bwahahahahaahaaa

I will never take this 528 non-sport on Rt 125. I have no deathwish. This afternoon on the way to Great Adventure, I took the 528 down Millstone Road, which is an excellent, lightly trafficked twisty road that runs theough the rural horse-based town of Millstone, NJ. The 528 was horrific in the twisties, rolling like a battleship, losing tire grip in turns at slow speeds and just not crisply responding to my commands. This thing does not deserve to be wearing the BMW roundel -- not because of lack of power but because of the Lexis-like handling. I have no doubt that a 528i with sport package would have been great but this non-sport, wallowly car shoud be confiined to straight roads and boulevards. For this price, I'd get an Infiniti M35 in a heartbeat over the 528i non-sport.
Another thing. When I was driving this morning, someone cut me off, forcing me to turn the wheel hard to immediately change lanes to avoid hitting him. The delay in the response was maddening. The soft suspension had to reset a bit before the car swerved as I needed it to. My mother in law's Accord V6 has a sharper lane change than that and is also faster and more powerful. Maddening.
I want my 550 back. Now.

Well after driving the 528i non-sport I now understand just how big the gulf in performance is between it and the 550i Sport. The gulf is not just in acceleration but in grip. I took an off ramp at speed to see the difference and it just like night and day. The 528, going around the ramp, began to lose grip rapidly at a speed much lower than the 550. It did not feel like driving a BMW (or at least what I think of one) at all. For this kind of dough, I'd get the Infiniti M35 in a second over the 528. Having driven the M45 for 3 years and having rented the M35 repeatedly, the M35 just handles the turns better and has more grip. I am sure that would change if the 528 I am driving had a sport package. But I am astonished at how low the handling thresholds are.
I want my 550 back. Now.
