I was toying around with DS mode the other day and noticed that
1) the tranny didn't upshift
2) the traction light comes on as it's nearing redline. it kept on coming on each time i punched it.
is this normal?

Sure... if you are getting on it enough for the tires to slip you will get traction control induced power loss. Did you fill a loss in power?

Makes sense. No loss in power just wasn't sure was that normal. What about the upshift? Isn't the tranny supposed to automatically shift? It was at pretty much redline so I let go and didn't want it to over rev.

if you don't hit the kick down button underneath the pedal (try pressing the pedal down all the way when the car is turned off), it will shift when it gets near redline.
