Hello to all,

So I recently came across a hell of a deal for a set of oem M6 wheels (they are coming off my buddys m6) Now here is th problem, he is selling them to me without the TPMS....I have a 2004 530i and was wondering if I put these oem m6 wheels on my car without the tpms will I encounter any "tire flat" errors of any sort? And if so will it let me reset the TPM through idrive even tho I don't have the tpms in the wheels? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance!

Your 2004 has FTM, not TPMS. You could not even take advantage of TPMS sensors in your wheels if you had them. All you need to do is reset the FTM in iDrive when you put your new wheels on. FTM uses the ABS sensors to measure/compare tire rotation speeds. Has nothing to do with measuring tire pressures.

Ok cool! This is great news...so let me get this 100% correct, on my 2004 530i I actually don't have tpms? And with any wheels that I choose to install on the vehicle will not need the tpms sensors? All that is required is A reset to the ftm settings in idrive?

Correct.
your car uses the abs sensor to monitor tire rotation to detect a flat tire. No need for TPMS.
