Default TPM malfunction

Anyone ever see this? It allowed me to reset the TMPS one time and then the settings part in the idrive just grayed out. The warning will not go away.

I suspect one of the wheel mounted sensors or one of the receivers has malfunctioned.

Has anyone replace one of these with an aftermarket product? I just ordered one from OEwheel distributors for $45.

Also is it true that the sensor batteries are only good for 6 years or 100,000 miles roughly?

I've heard that the batteries do have a limited lifetime and are not replaceable. OEM supplier is BERU... be sure to look for a replacement with the proper frequency. I also suggest you order the stem "repair kit" - that's about $7.

Yes the battery in the sensor will die eventually, time depends on how frequent the sensor is set to transmit data. Like what lungi said beru makes the oem Tpms sensors for our vehicles. As long as you ordered the ones for your e60 you should be fine. Also have you recently replaced you tires?
