Default TPM is completely grayed out in the info centre

Hey guys
Today I tried to reset the TPM, but when I go to the info centre on the iDRIVE it's completely grayed out and doesn't let me click on it at all.

Does any of you know what the problem is?

Thanksss

Does it take some time after starting the car and running a mile or so while it gathers sensor info? Try driving a bit?

If you already clicked on "reset", it will stay greyed-out until you drive the car and the reset completes.

yup, also you cannot use it unless your are stationary. so trying to reset it while driving will do no good.. if im not mistaken.

I've tried everything u guys said but it's still greyed out. Would there be a problem with the TPM module? Since I've read in many placd that it's a common problem

Which type of TPM do you have?

I have a 2006 530xi and it is the last of the non-direct reading TPM types. It cannot tell the tire pressure, it uses the ABS sensors to tell how many revolutions the tires are making and if there is a difference it complains. The idea is that an flat or under-inflated tire will have a different revolutions/mile compared to the other tires. Later models have a direct pressure reading sensor mounted in each tire.

Try turning on your ignition only, then go to the TPM screen. Once there, then turn on the engine and then try resetting.
