On my E39 I could select the radio station I wanted to use for listening to traffic reports.

Then irrespective of the source I was listening to (CD, Tape or Radio) the system would automatically switch to the radio when a traffic report was being aired on the pre-defined station.

Now on my E60, in the radio station settings there is a TP checkbox which can be selected against a particular station.

However the system never changes to the traffic reports. I have noticed the system occassionally switch to radio for 2 seconds & then switch back to the original source i.e. CD.

I have the hi-fi speaker system, but no prof radio & no nav.

Does any one have any suggestions?

I have the same problem! TP worked perfect in my 540 E39. In my 530d E61 I have had one or two messages coming through during the last 12 months. I have tried all possible combinations - does not work as supposed. Anyone out there having a hint ...?

Iceman,

i-menu?
Do you mean settings menu?

I did tick/check the TP box in the radio station settings.

Pressing down the controller when on the main screen... it takes you to the i-menu, AKA settings menu. There you can select TP and TMC stations or set it to AUTO.

Thanks. I have done that - in all possible combinations of AUTO and non-AUTO between TP and TMC. If I turn OFF TMC, I get a list of possible stations to select as main TP station or AUTO. If I turn ON TMC, I only get the AUTO option in TP. Either way - I do not get Traffic Messages unless I am tuned in on a station that transmits such messages. I have CIP 16.2.

Henri,
I do not have those menu options when going into the settings menu.
Do you have prof. radio or Nav?
