Hey guys, Im finally gonna visit Canada!!!
Well, im heading there tonight for 10 days and want to rent an SUV(w/ GPS +insurance) for the family. Can anyone recommend any good, cheap, car rental company. "Budget" was my first choice as its internationaly known but it seems expansive. You locals should know where i can get some good deals, can anyone recommend?
Thx

When I visited Toronto a couple of years ago, we hired from Avis - managed to get a Chrysler 300C V8 Hemi for about $90 (Canadian) a day. Thought it was a pretty good deal

Any of the big rental companies would be fine. If you are renting from the airport there will be a surcharge. Discount Car and Truck is the local brand, and Ive found them to be more economical than the bigger companies - www.discountcar.com
Good luck, hope you enjoy T. dot O - centre of the universe

we surely need a SUV as we're a family of 5 with luggage. Checking discountcar. We would need to pickup the SUV from the airport and it should be equiped w/GPS so we dont get lost.
More recommendations will be appreciated.'Thx MrSingh,Mr.Thullz

Metro TO is laid out fairly well, so if you're staying in the city proper, you shouldn't get too lost. One-way streets, yes, but at least it's all grid-style, not diagonals and roundabouts and so forth..
Lots of good stuff to do up there, although I haven't been in a while due to the sharp decline of the US dollar vs the CDN dollar..

Try National Car Rental at the Airport.
Go to www.travelocity.ca and click on car rentals, you can compare the prices from all the majors. SUVs tend to be premium priced, I've sometimes rented a mini van....yeah I know
but at 1/3 the cost of what they wanted for an SUV.

Hey bteljuice, its not likely many of the cheaper rentals will have sat nav, but most of the rental companies loan tom-tom's or other portable satnavs for around $25/day so check that out.

Anyhow, thx a lot guys for all the input and help. Gotta luv this forum

BTW, One whole day here and havent seen ONE E60. Both my dad and I own E60s, so we were both on the look for one
