Its prob been posted a zillon times but it does make for good entertainment, hardley fair though to put it up against a V8 though!!!

I agree, but like for like the diesel would have it with ease!! in any comparison test surly you need to test against the same displacement!!!

The 335d and 335i provide perhaps the easiest comparison as you can't get an E60 535i in the UK. Either way, it's going to be much the same story - had the 535d raced the 535i, I'd put money on the 3.0 TT I6 gas engine to "win" this particular battle as again it's much quicker from the start.
