I am looking at a few different options here and thought a poll might be fun - there are also a few people on the boards looking for tires as well, so this may help them out a bit. I used TireRack since it seems to be the most popular tire site. I based my choices on the "Best Sellers" for this car (2004 545i with staggered Sport setup) along with what I have seen on the boards. The reason I would only need 2 runflats is that I have 2 really good fronts... The prices are for tires only... no balancing, mounting, shipping etc...

My Continentals have given me great service...43K miles. I'm putting a set of Extreme Contact DWS on next week.

I am wondering if the DWS (Dry, Wet Snow) ride louder or rougher... It may be a better option for me in since I do reside in the Northeast... but would they be decent in the snow? If not there may be no point.

The reviews I've read claim they're good snow tires and quiet. I'm gonna give them a try.

If you have the compact spare and jack you might consider replacing your RFTs with conventional tires. If not, you'd be well advised to have a spare set-up should you go the replacement to conventional tires.

I do have a donut spare - yet another reason I dont see a need for RFT's.

get the cont. dws, they are awesome in the snow, wet, heat, everything! I had them and loved them.. run flats suck, and 4 of the cont's will cost you the price of 2 run flats.. so, its a no brainer, just click and pay, youll have them in 3 days
