Tires broke loose today! Where is my DTC!

I have noticed this going fast on on/off ramps as well, especially with my snow tires when they are real cold. With traction on, the back would get loose and slide a bit, kinda makes you jump at first.. but still exciting. However at a stop light or stop sign its near impossible to fishtail a corner with it on, even with wet/icy conditions. I think the DTC system can really depend on if its tire-spin fishtail style vs. stright up sliding caused by too much speed.

I think this story reinforces my belief that you really need to drive your car to the limits in a controlled environment to learn how it responds and the systems respond. You need to do max performance braking to learn how the ABS behaves, and so on with the traction and stability control systems.

stoic1 The date was awesome! LOL coming home amped up and excited to be alive and having a gorgeous date waiting to hear all the excitement makes a guy feel like James Bond! I could tell as I told her what happened she was very impressed! Said I'm cool under pressure!! Which is so true.. Ahem.. Ahem..
