Hankooks are the best out of the bunch you've listed. If you want a comparable falken tire it would be the FK453, its asymmetrical similar to the michellin pss
I had the Mich. PS A/S 2's and were fine for the first 10,000 mi. After that they were noisier than hell and started to chunk on both front tires! Alignment was checked and good. Ended up going to Michilin MXM4's! They've been great with over 10,000 on them! A much better ride!
Michelin PS2 A/S 2. Almost as much grip as the PS2 summer tires and I've not had any issues with them, chunking or otherwise. Bought them at Costco, so if there was a problem, the warranty will cover it. Check in with Tire Rack for all sorts of tire reviews and decide for yourself.
SumiTomo:
Has anyone used or know about this tire brand? When I called about the Hankooks, I asked what would be the next step below and the guy said SumiTomo's are good. He said they use it on a lot of Lexus IS cars. The upside to the SumiTomo is that they are a couple hundred less than the Hankooks. Downside is they are a little louder on the road from what I was told, but how much louder?...How do they feel? Are they noticeably loud?

I am ready for my third set of tires 19" for my 550i. I had General UHP, really liked the stiffness in the ride. Brother teased me about the truck tire look. Based upon TireRack reviews I purchased Continental DWS. Have absolutely hated these tires since the day they were put on. Way too mushy.
I decided that I would purchase Michelin Pilot Super Sports no matter what. I just put a set of them on my other car. Back in Jan TireRack's web site said they would not be back in stock until March, now there web site says May 30. I am not sure I should wait that long, so I am in a quandary as to what to purchase, so I am interested in reading this thread for people's opinion.

So, I have Falken 453's on my 20's. I've put about 2k miles on them and so far so good. I had the older 452's prior. I would've gone with another set of 452's when they needed replacing but wanted to try the newer 453's for the asymetrical tread design. Being able to swap sides (for longevity) was a selling point. I believe they were on par pricewise with the Hankooks.
I have Michelin Pilot AS on the stock 19" and those tires are NOISY. Although I have approx 20K on the tires..

I've had good experience with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires. I've used them before on other cars and they aren't too noisy. They have pretty good grip for an inexpensive street tire.
