I used to be a fan of run-flats because I liked the harsh driving feel. But, recently it started raining down here in Florida, and I got a glimpse of just how bad the traction on these things is. My stability control icon blinked 5 times on the way home last night, I wasn't even in sport mode, just driving normally. Twice at the stoplight, once while making a U-turn. Once while taking a left turn into my community, going about 25-30mph. And once more in my community at a stop sign. I really don't feel very safe with these Bridgestone Potenza tires. I want to get normal tires, Michelin would be good. I have heard mixed feeling about the PS2's. Can someone give my some suggestions on good tires? I don't need racing tires, just tires that will stick to the road.

Thank you.

I just purchased a set of General Exclaims to replace my Dunlop RFT's, I'm very happy with them so far. The ride is much better, and they sure are quieter. Haven't had a chance to test them in inclement weather yet here in California.

Aggreed, I replaced the 18" run flats with a set of 20" and the feel, ride and handling has improved in every way.

Yeah, man, that's a tough one as there probably are as many opinions about RFT vs non-RFT and which brand as there are members. For example, I run Michelin PS All-Seasons year round, which you don't need where you live. Some guys run summer only and add winters if they need them, etc. IMHO, you're in a little bit of a tough spot in that you live where it's hot and w/o cold/snow, but still get a lot of rain. I'm sure one of the FL guys will chime in. Also, as Gene pointed out, Tire Rack has a lot of good info. GL!

And if you sign up and link to TireRack through MrRebates you'll be on your way to earning some cash back. At tire rack it's a 4% rebate go here and create an account for any / all of your on-line shopping http://www.mrrebates.com?refid=55980

That's better than the Republican and Democrat tax plan rolled together

I had Michelin PilotSports on my Roadster. I thought they were OK but I went for a high perf summer Dunlop when it was replacement time. IMHO Michelins seem to be priced about 50% higher than other similar performing brand name tires. I also found they got real slippery once half worn.
