I was wondering how long it would take for some idiot to rip off my metal valve cap covers , answer, 7 months.

I am curious, is it only me?

LOL, can only imagine what the replacement costs will be from BMW.

7 months!!!

They last about 7 days here if you are lucky.

Seems to be the latest sport. Buy a handful of plastic ones and replace them weekly is the only answer.

For me, TWO DAYS, parked in the supermarket car-park.

I've now invested in a set of theft-resistant ones, like these:

Factory dust caps made of metal rather than the normal plastic... I've had mine for almost 2 years and they're still there - I'm surprised!

I have done mine up with a leather-man pliers and keep it in the boot. A casual brat will find them too tight. I bet they don't get nicked in parts of the middle east!! Chop their thieving hands off!
