I got a tire puncture with the runflats today. Big nail. Luckily there was a tire place right there and they plugged it for me for US$6. Perfectly fine now and after the puncture, wow no big deal. I could drive just fine with the runflats and when I looked at the tires, I couldn't tell I had a flat tire, the guy had to check the air pressure of all of the tires. 40, 40, 40 and 20. Opps 20, must be this one.

Anyway, how to turn off the Tire Puncture warning now? I started and restarted and drove on an hour long trip afterwards and the Warning never went off. Couldn't find a setting in the service part of Idrive either to turn it off.

Do I need to visit the BMW service center?

No! Just reset the FTM in idrive. And makesure the wheels doesn't loose any more air.

On a recnet long trip in the 545i, I had the FTM go off on me. I pulled into a gas station, purchased a 99 cent tire gauge (BMW should give you one of these akin to the flashlight IMO), and checked my tires.

They were all fine. After I RTFM, it tells me spirited driving ( ) could set it off!

Yup if you spin one of the wheels more than the others too much it'll think you have a flat...

This worked thanks. I corrected the message by setting iDrive to reset the tire pressure monitoring. No need for a trip to the service center.

What? I didn't get any warnings even though i had alot of tire spin in every way possible, except doing doughnuts. Straght line tire spin (dsc off and power braking), drifting ...and didn't get any errors!

Well it said Possible... not for sure... plus it needs enough of 1 wheel spinning at a different rate than the others for a little bit before it tells you.

Thats how the FTM works... it uses the ABS sensor to sense if one wheel is turning at a different rate compared to the others.
