I use the air from the gas station, but I use my own tire guage to test the air pressure- I don't rely on the one attached to the hose at the gas station.
Same here.
Almost every gas station I go to has their gauge off by 1/20 to 1/10 of a bar.
Handheld electronic gauges are very useful.

Personal electric compressor that uses 120V wall outlet power. Much faster and much better than the portable rechargable ones.

I like to do it at the convienience of my own driveway. They're cheap now too like $30 at most.
Same here!! In most cases by the time you get to the gas station your tires will be warm enough to get a false psi reading.Your should check and filled them when they are cold.RTFM!!!!!!!
cheers

Personal portable compressor. 4 vehicles plus riding lawn mower, portable gas generator, pressure sprayer, various utility carts all needing AIR. Digital and premium analog pressure gauges to check frequently. It pays to know as much about the condition of tires as possible. Proper pressures are safer and lead to longer mileage.

[2. if your own, what type: bicycle pump, electric pump...

thanks
[/quote]

I can't imagine trying to use a bicycle pump; my heavy duty German foot pump is barely adequate to top off my motorcycle. My leg would fall off before I raised these monster tires a pound.

Generally, I use the gas station variety and cross check it with my own gauge.

Cheers,

Use bicycle pump (hand-operated) with analog gauge. Always check pressure in the morning when tires are cold.

Portable electric pump $ 20.00 and a really good air pressure

gauge. Change the gauge yearly, they do deteriorate w/ time.
