I'm still having some serious issues with the Tire Pressure Monitor, it keeps coming on during long journeys. Any one had a similar experience?

My salesman told me that the so call pressure monitor actually monitors wheel speed by reading the ABS tach wheel on each wheel. It raises an alarm if any one of the wheels shows a consistant increase in speed, meaning a smaller diameter due to loss of air pressure. You have to reset it via the iDrive even after you re-inflat it.

If your alarm keeps going off and there is absolutely nothing wrong with each physical tire, I will suspect the speed sensors.

You may have a slow puncture

I had one which was completely invisible. I only found it by monitoring the tyre pressures over the course of a week.

I had a warning maybe every couple of days or so before-hand and after fixing the tyre I have only had one since - which I think was caused by driving on a very uneven road.

After physically checking the tire pressure and adjusting it to the correct pressure do you reset it?

Well I'm pretty sure I do all the right things!!, Presure in tyres is fine, reset the monitor each time etc etc

It just seems like every time I'm on a longish journey the monitor sets off!!

I'll have to get it checked out by the local dealer!!
