Folks,
I had a loss of tire pressure the other day that set off my FTM. Sure enough, the passenger side rear tire was at 27psi. I'm now looking at my tire pressure in all four tires and had a question...
On the 530xi, what is the correct tire pressure for front and rear tires? The door placard shows 36PSI rear and 30PSI front, but the dealer had the tires inflated to 36PSI for all 4 tires when I took delivery 5 months ago...
Should I let air out of the front tires to 30PSI and 36 for the rear or just leave it as is... If doing so will improve ride quality/fuel consumption, I'm all for it...
Thanks,
L3

go for what the label on your driver's door says..... of course the lower the pressure the ride will be more comfortable and do not worry about the consumption.... no noticeable effect....
I had a similar story... my tire guy mistakenly put significatly a lot more pressure to my new wheels and tires setup.... I was mad for a day as the ride quality was very very bad.... then I checked the pressure and dicovered this so fixed it to what the label says and the car is so comfi now

Go with the lower measurements in door placard +2 PSI.
Tyre pressures really makes a great differance in car handling and comfort!
You can also feel out your way, but do not go under the given measurements.
Also the air temperature makes big differance, a 10 C temp change does a 2 PSI
differance.
The warmer, the higher the pressure is.
The pressure should be checked out every month, whatever they say the
tyres leak a bit and do it when the tyres are cold (not after more than 5 miles of driving).

Reset your tires to the door post specs, first thing in the morning, then reset your iDrive system as you put on your first few miles.
