So guys,

tires are way too expensive nowadays so as a precaution, i checked my tire pressure and for some reason or the other, i thought 2,4 bar sounds good, so i pumped it from the 2,2 it had to 2,4 - all 4 wheels. well now, when i am parking, everytime i steer the car, i feel like the front tires rub more and cause a friction that i can feel on my steering...

attached is a pdf from dunlop regarding pressure - am not sure about their values, a colleague of mine had it pumped to 3.0 and it turned out that teh middle of the tires wore out so much faster...

greetings

Are you on run flats? Not sure of the pressure units used but should always follow the recommended pressure stated on the sticker on driver side door jamb. Check pressure once every 2 weeks (unless on nitrogen) when tires are cold. Excessive wear in the midddle normally is caused by over inflation. I have 225/50 17 run flats on my car and the recommended pressure is only 200kpa for front and 240kpa for the rear (low to medium load). Tried higher inflation so that I can check pressure less frequently but felt car was more bumpy so decided to stick with the recommeded pressure and it handles ok.

i have 19" non-rft - i don't think the pressure stated on the sticker on the driver side is appropriate for non standard tires like the 19". am just curious what the other fellas here are doing with the 19" dunlops - i think the recommended pressure according to dunlop (see attachment) is far too high..

correct me if I am wrong, checked that 1 bar is equal to 14.503774 psi and based on your pdf file data , those pressure stated seems pretty high (assuming cold reading).

that is what i am saying... wit the 2,4 bar i feel uncomfortable but if i should increase it to the numbers they quoted, i will need a new set of tires in the next couple of months, and trust me, new tires here in europe costs a fortune...

over or under inflation is not good as it causes uneven wear and less than optimal road surface contact . I think you should consult with BMW dealer as to what recommended pressure that is required for the 19 inch factory option. I am sure there are other members here that are on 19 inch tires, what pressure are you guys using?

I get this feeling you discribe if mine get down to about 2.3 bar (~33 psi) in front -- as our weather cooled last week I got down in this range. I like the feel of about 2.5 bar (36 psi) front and 2.7 (39 psi) rear. The wear seems to be pretty even so far (around 10K miles).

thanks for the tip. is the pressure brand specific, or should all 19" in 275 rear and 245 front have the same pressure..

For 18" RF's +0,5 of the lower limit works great with no cargo.

I do not know about the "new" RF's but the old ones are harsh.

The tramlining issue can be delt with tyres that have a smooth (round) edge.
The Michelin's have it and I suppose the Pirellis also. Conties don't.
Overhere some requires the Nokian tyres.

Get a pro overall lining for your chassi, if you change to lower profile tyres and or suspension.
