RDC
Radioelectric system of monitoring of the pressure of the tires of BMW. This system is also indicated, according to the manufacturers, by acronyms RTPMS or SSPP. It permanently controls the pressure of the tires of the vehicle, moving as with the stop. A sensor placed on the wheel monitors the pressure of the tire. It transmits radio-electrically the data rel?v?es to the computer of edge which compares them with the face values filed for the vehicles. If the variations are too significant, the computer of edge into formless the driver by setting off an alarm in the dashboard. The spare wheel is also supervised by the same system.

I'm guessing yes. As long as the car has ABS, DSC, etc., it would cost nothing more to offer the feature. Also, I think there is a DOT regulation that requires some type of system like this to be included by some date in the future. The SUV rollover issues are the main reasons for the US DOT getting involved.

During the Firestone fiasco, it was determined that many SUV's are running with significantly underinflated tires...

Over here every E60 (also the 520) has the FTM as a standard option..

The FTM system works regardless of tire size/type.? You "teach" the system the proper inflation by initializing it once you've confimed the tire pressures are where you want them, etc.? You'd also re-initialize the system if you change your tire sizes or change from winter to summer tires.
Does anybody tell me how to initialize the system? Is it in i-drive? Can we replace tires from RFT to high performance one and reinitialize the system by ourselves?

Yes, it is part of the vehicle settings. You can find the procedure in the manual. Takes a ten minute ride to initialize.

yes GO TO TIRE MONITORING AND THE SET. YOU AHVE TO BE STOPPED AT FIRST AND THEN YOU SHOULD DRIVE E FEW MILES AND THE SYSTEM WILL REINITIALIZE ITSELF
