Where should I look to get an indication of the oil level in my tiptronic gearbox? I can not find a physical one in the engine bay and there is no iDrive display for it.

Is it like in the olden days with the diff and gearbox, getting under the car and remove an inspection plug?

in the idrive, push straight down, then scroll down to service. in the service menu, click down one, and then scroll to the right to engine oil level. it should be there. hope you could follow this and hope it helps.

Thanks but that is the engine oil not the automatic transmission oil. Any further clues?

Tiptronic? You should probably consult the Porsche owner's manual...

The gearbox is sealed, there's no dipstick. The only way to check is to get under the car, remove the fillplug and stick your finger in there and see if the oil is level.

Thank you, so it is like in the olden days. I guess that means (like the diff) we should not be looking.
