The only "REAL" solution would be to have an extra set of floor mats on either side of the car to wipe your feet BEFORE you get into the car (kind of like a door mat outside the car)! Seriously, ;light colors stain easily, and you either make cleaning them part of your maintenance or buy black ones!

I have the OEM BMW all-season mats for winter. They're black as well, and while they do protect the underlying carpet, they still look crappy when dirty--they show dust or anything light. Although a quick wipe with a damp cloth takes care of it. I just use a Dustbuster for the carpet ones I have in now.

It's kind of funny, really. We have floor mats to protect carpet we never intend to have exposed? It's always covered by another piece of carpet or rubber. Hmmmm.

If you stay with beige, the only thing to be done is just to buy new ones every year. They're only $149 or something (that's like, what ... one less cup of Starbucks per week) - not a big deal to keep your E60 looking sharp.
$90 with free shipping....best price I've found. I have the same dilemma.

I remember a few years ago I had the pleasure of refuelling the Presidential Helicopter Marine One. It had lovely Beige carpets, but what made me really laugh was the fact the pilot had to take his shoes off at the steps and put on a pair of slippers that were stored just inside the door. LMAO.......maybe there was method to his madness

Same color/issue here. Costco has some tan colored all weather carpet looking like things for $17. Had to cut it up pretty badly to fit the drivers side but otherwise OK, color match isn't bad. The down side is they stink like old tires. Not sure I'm going to leave them in or not, function is fine but smell is stupid.

I have the same dilema too, just picked up a 2009 520d in Sapphire Black with the beige interior (including carpets). I'm planning on getting the BMW Black Carpet mats. Right now I've got some black overmats from my old Merc ML covering them.

I have beige mats and prefer them over the black interior I had in my 325i. The black showed grass, leaves, hair, etc. I have a little rubber nubbie wand that I will occasionally take to my mat while hanging it out of the car.

Sounds like my grandparents who would buy a new car and immediately put clear vinyl seat covers or my mother who would get a new Sofa and have slip covers made.

Mats are to protect the carpet. They are cheap. If you spend $50,000 on a car why whine when you spend 130 once a year on mats?
