+1 ... and the gas cap (and replacement if it is faulty) is covered under the (United States) Federal emissions warranty -- that extends longer and more miles that the new car (4yrs / 50K miles) warranty. I'm not sure but that vent hose should probably also be covered under the same emissions warranty

My previous picture shows a disconnected hose (white) running from the activated (#1.) charcoal canister to the fuel tank. The (#3.) DMTL (fuel tank leak detection module) is
mounted on the canister and pressurizes the tank; this diagnosis pump only runs when the key is off after atleast a 20 minute drive. A leak, gas cap off/loose,
or in this case, a disconnected hose, triggers a fault. An OBD fault is indicated by the "Check Engine" indicator lamp in the instrument cluster lighting up (p1434).

I found this thread after a search. It seems old, but I hope someone can help.

I've been getting the "tighten gas cap" alert for a while. Replaced the cap twice. I suspect that the issue is the disconnect line, and I will check for that myself.

If it is not a disonnected line, what else to check? the DMTL itself?
