Brought my '06 550 in for the brake booster recall, was advised by the tech that the thrust rod bushings are worn/torn and need to be replaced along with a transmission fluid leak. Dealer wanted $ 621 for the bushings replacement and $ 1130 for the transmission pan/gasket replacement .

Gonna tackle the pan and gasket myself since there are lots of good info here in the DIY section for this job but I can't find any info the the thrust rod bushings or may be I'm not searching it right. Gonna bring it to my indy shop soon for a second opinion soon. Has anyone ever have problem with the thrust rod bushings before?

Thanks guys

I have had to have my front lower control arms and rear bushes replaced and also suffered from a transmission leak which took the car into 'safe mode' until this was fixed.
