Hi Guys,
I've got an 08 535 xi CPO I recently took it into the dealership for a clicking noise on the engine, they ended up replacing both turbos, it runs great, However, when I took it in the alignment was perfect, when I got it back, the alignment was way off, I took it back to the dealership, they said the thrust arm is bent, and said it will be 750.00 to replace! All I know is that when I brought the car in the alignment was perfect and after they replaced the turbo its way off, Has anyone had a similar experience? I am assuming that to replace the turbo they have to take a lot of stuff on the car apart. I feel like I am getting ripped off here. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Josh

Thanks for the quick response, I'm going to the dealership later today or tomorrow to inspect it... From what I understand, no.. I baby that car, and I am the only one to drive it, so I'm guessing that if this did happen while i was driving it, it would have been a significant enough impact for me to feel? Could it happen if they forgot to disconnect the entire suspension before dropping the sub frame or during dis assembly when they had to get to the turbos? or would they not even touch that part? Sorry if my questions sound dumb, I'm not too well versed on this stuff.
Thanks,
Josh

I had a tech drive my wifes turbo Beetle into a hoist and pop a tire. Anything is possible I guess.

Just a quick update in case anyone else runs into this.. I went into the dealership this AM and took a look for myself turns out the thrust arm is in fact not bent.. there is a scrape on the other "C-shaped" component but that appears to be from the car wash.. The thrust arm how ever was just loose, talked to the shop foreman he agreed it was their fault and they are fixing it at no charge! Goes to show you, always have the dealership show you the "problem" before dropping the money into repairing it..
