THINKING OF BUYING A 545I ANY SUGGESTIONS? HELP!

2004 525 Black on Black 6spd (lease just ended)
I think I am in the same boat as Starski.
My 525 with 6-spd lease just ended last week and I have been looking at 545's for about 3 months. I currently have Audi S4 which is silly fast but too small for everyday driving. I drove last night my first 05 545 with SMG. Seemed like it can be a fun option with the SMG. I had heard the automatic portion in the SMG was one of the down falls. I really did not think it was bad at all where the sport feeling was still there.
What are the the thoughts on resale for a 545 with SMG. There are not too many around with that option. The last question for those of us that live in snow (MN) how will SMG play with winter driving??
Look forward to your thoughts.

Thanks for all the help and advice, and I'll def keep your car in mind eurocar. Is that all stock the dinan stuff? or did you get that done after purchase? I wouldn't mind having something like that. I know I can't afford one of the new M's but having something a little special like a dinan edition would be cool too. Anybody in the bay area got a SMG 545 they wouldn't mind letting me take for a spin? Haha... I drove a stock 545i the used car place with a sports package but that's all it had and it was nice but didn't have any cool options on it. I still want to test drive an M3 to see how it feels, but I have had a v8 for so long I'm not sure about going back to a 6... Any other opinions?

All my Dinan stuff was installed at Dinan headquarter in Morgan Hill. Where are you located in the Bay Area? You're welcome to come test drive my car if you want. Another option is come out next Wed to the Cajun Crab House restaurant in San Jose (near Santana Row). We're having a mini E60 meet there. Vegastrashed is a member on this forum that has a 545 SMG albeit with a lot of mods. He'll be there as well.

hey that sounds like fun. I'm down to go! I'm in SF so san jo is only like 45 mins from here. Its ok to go even though I'm not officialy an E60 owner yet? I love me some seafood tho!
