Ask them to pull up the service records, if they won't back out...
Fairly simple to put the key in the reader and hit print.
Under 40k and a 08' 535 around here go for mid to upper $30k. The buy out on my 535 was 35.5 and they are normally below market value on the buy outs. My car only had 19k on it in 20 months. So 32k is a good deal , but some thing is smelly....

in in socal and bought a silver 2008 535i with premium and convenience package in nov. 2009. It had 24k miles and was a CPO. Still had 2 years of free maintenance and 4 years of warranty. Paid $31,888 not including tax and title. Hope this is a good measure.

All of the models have problems. Just look now on the forum, there are 550's that have acceleration problems https://5series.net/forums/topic/935...-has-turbo-lag , engine stutter, clutch problems https://5series.net/forums/topic/935...dal-feel-clunk , transmission slams, etc, etc.

"Was a problem"?
Try a again. Still is...even on 2010 E9x,E8X, and X6's states side, and yes even on the 2010 E60's.

My point being that its not just the 535 experiencing some issues. Also this forum is global and most people don't post to say "Hey, my 550's engine has all the power it started with from New", they usually only state when they have a problem. So here we hear all the problems.

Well I made the deal and am going to pick it up tomorrow. I have been dealing with the GM and can't get him to go below $32k. I feel like it's a good deal though. Could I go to another dealer and save another grand? Optioned this way I don't know. But this one has everything I want, is CPO'd and has a solid service history. If it ends up having HPFP issues, they will fix it and other than that it's a beautiful car. I will post some pictures when I bring it home. Thanks to everyone for the comments and great advice!!! Hopefully I can return the favor someday!

Well done...it would have been a shame to lose that car for $1000. Everybody (including me) will have an opinion on the best way to negotiate the deal. Bottom line...it's YOUR money and YOUR loss if you don't do what it takes to get the car. I also completely agree with your view on the HPFP. Other than that particular issue (which BTW, I haven't had and I'm at 36K miles) these seem to be pretty solid cars. I don't think you find find anybody that will deny how well the 535i runs, pulls, and drives...again outside the HPFP issue. And with 100K & 10 year warranty...it will be fixed by that time...IMHO. Congrats...you're gonna LOVE the car!

I just picked up my car 2 weeks ago. As a matter of fact, this is my 1st post...
2008 525xi
CPO
Sport Pkg
Nav
Premium
Adaptive Xenon
Sirius
27k miles
Got it for $34,500 with tax, tags, fees OTD. Ext warranty ending mid-2013.
Seems like your price is in line, if not a little low. I wouldn't trust the carfax. I've been hearing pretty bad stories. And watch Pennsylvania titles or registrations. They have no salvage titles.
Just do your research and go with your gut. GL
