Thanks to all on this forum for sharing info regarding those bogus Dunlop runflats.
Background: I purchased my frst BMW (545i spt.pkg) last fall. I've driven mostly american made trucks/suvs for the last 20 yrs. Obviously a pretty major change in vehicles. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BIMMER!
The Problem: at about 6000mi, I started to notice more road noise and little shaking at about 45 mph. over the next 1000- 1500 miles the poblem got progressively worse. I took the car in and explained the problem. I was told the alignment was out of spec and that they suspected the inside of the left front rim might be bent. All this due to the pothole I allegedly hit.
I was then told that 2 new tires, balancing, and re-alignment would carry a price a tag of around $1500. Unacceptable imo for a car of this caliber with very few miles
What I did: Realizing that you BMW people are a bunch of freaks, I turned to the internet to seek you out. Needless to say, I found this forum, and recv'd the info that would enlighten my service advisor.
Solution: My dealership (Motorwerks in Minneapolis) has agreed to warranty all four tires and is replacing them with new Continentals.
It took quite a bit of persistance on my part, but arming myself with information from this forum proved invaluable.
Thanks again to all!

Welcome! Were the replacements non-runflut or runflat?

Good question.. I don't recall Continental's being in Beemrs Run-Flat lineup!

I'm going in for mine probaby by the end of the month. I'm trying to coordinate the service appointment with the body shop appointment to install the Aero kit all at once. I expect to have the tires 100% covered and want non-runflat replacements since I own the car and don't lease. Not to mention the tires I want are better and cheaper than the runflats. We'll see!
