My Ride: 2004 545i Steptronic, Dark Blue, 18" wheels, Car Phone, Sports Seats, Active Xeons, Professional Navigation, Logic 7, Active Steering, Dynamic Drive Cruise Cotrol, Rear Blind, Ski Compartment, Folding Rear Seats, Rear Side Window Blinds....
I don't think it is an intentional setting... 18.1 tomorrow so we will see if it fixes the problem, because it is extremely frustrating....

Some versions of the ECU software seemed to have a bug with a throttle response delay. My 09/05 build 545 had it and it was corrected after I was upgraded to CIP 16.3. I believe there were several threads on this board regarding it.

Guys, stomp on the gas and release it immediately to see if RPM go up as other "drive-by-cable" car. I'm sure you'll notice the throttle delay. This happens in all throttle-by-wire cars. When I first heard about the technology, I thought it was great, but actually it's worst. I'd trade for 2 miles/gal than throttle delay which improve emission. Not fun at all.
