i feel really dumb asking this, but it's so much easier on my acura and i can't for the life of me figure out how to just terminate the navigation so it stops giving me directions. the only way i know how is to turn off the car and back on. it'll ask if i want to continue guidance, and i'll say no. what's the proper way of doing it?

..and if you don't have Extended Voice Control just move the iDrive controller over to the icon column to the left of the map window and click on the (second down IIRC) icon which looks like a right-pointing arrow pointing at a dot.

Or, go back one screen to the screen with the list of your last (and current) destinations. The current destination has an arrow pointing at a dot in front. Click on it, and then you can stop the guidance in the menu that comes up.

I'm sure there are even longer-winded ways of doing it! (hmmmm... that may be the same number of iDrive operations... but even so, IMHO using the icons which are currently on dispaly is a little more intuitive.)

Maybe we're talking about the difference between GUI and DOS fans here.

I just posted this because if he has a real old software version he doesn't have the icons on the left.

Oh, BTW, Kneemah:

Please update your pofile and let us know where you are located (which country). That makes it easier to answer some questions, since there are differences on the E60, depending for which country it has been built.
