Temperature gauge where are you located???

I guess the red area serves as dual purpose for too high an RPM or if you have no dashes, your engine is overheating or overheated.

It will decrease...I took a picture of mine cold right now. Sorry, It's dark in the parking structure. As you can (try to) see there are 9 lines.

you are right balbs i did count the lines in the beginning when you start
the car and it did have nine lines

I feel dumb. It just dawned on my that I should have turned the headlights on so that the lines would show better for the picture in the parking structure.

Although those lines do indicate temp rising. I don't think they are an accurate guide of when the car hits running temp.

If you access the secret menu you should be able to see the temp and see that the lines disappear quicker than the car hits operating temp

Ok, I am confused now... I looked in my car and I have the three hash lines just before the red mark at the 7000. These lines are fixed and do not move. Is there a diferent cluster out there?

Check out the first page of the thread - another member also has three lines as do I. A good suggestion in post 12 is if you have no lines, your car could be overheating
