I've read a numer of posts discussing the lack of a temp gauge. Has anyone tried installing an auxillary temp gauge? I need to install one because I just paid large $ to repair my overheated engine. Is there a water temperature sending unit that I could tap into?
Any help greatly appreiated
Thanks
Greg

there is no gauge showing the temp, but it is being monitored. if the temp rises above a certain point (used to be 115deg C) you'll get all hell breaking loose on the cluster and the i-drive display.

if you absolutely must have one, you can do something like this:
Multifunction gauge unit Multifunction gauge unit

but keep in mind, if whatever caused your overheating condition didn't trigger a warning on the cluster it will not register an abnormally high temp on this gauge unit either, as it is reading OBD-II signals to get information just like the cluster does.
