TCU coding
I have a friend with a fried TCU. A replacement is on order but I need the steps to code it. I've been searching online but can't find any clear instructions. If anyone has these instructions can it be sent to me. Thanks

I replaced mine a couple of yrs ago and it worked just fine w/o Coding, but I did use tool32 or winfkp(forget which one) to add my vin took quite awhile to run and complete that process but like I said it worked just fine before I did that.

Do you remember the steps to code the VIN. I know that's all I need since it's just a replacement. Everything else should be good

thinking this is what I used but if this doesn’t work for you there should be plenty of assistance in that forum as well.
good luck

I put the new module in and got Bluetooth right away but my SOS error still stayed. I attempted to change the VIN on the TCU to no availability and now I have no Bluetooth. I'm the iDrive it says to activate it in the setting but can't check the box. All the coding is correct on the modules are correct except the VIN.
Any ideas?

Yesterday I finally had time to tackle the TCU. Apparently there is a delay in coding and it actually showing it has been coded.
First I had to tackle the VIN change. Coded the module and came back an hour later after shutting down the car and the VIN was changed.
Next I had to code the Bluetooth back to active since the first time it deactivated somehow but still showed active. While doing this I wanted to code the SOS out since the TCU was not the issue to begin with. Once I coded them out everything works fine.
At this point I can care less why the SOS error happened since I ended up coding it out. It's not something I've ever used since I have owned the car. As long as the error stopped popping up is all I cared about. Now I have a spare TCU just in case it's needed.
