Hi does anybody know where the transmission control module is on a 04 525i m54? its usually next to the DME but on this car it is not next to the DME. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry bro, I've been looking through the TIS and I can't find anything which points to that module's location. I found something that said it was a part of the mechatronics. Anyway, this will bump it back to the top, hopefully someone chimes in because I would like to know, for future reference.

I think TCM is under the center console (between gear shifter and iDrive knob). Strip down the center console and you will see it.

Definately not there, I have taken out the center console numerous times. The only module under there is the air bag module.

Is sitting at the left rear wheel base , it's behind the cover there in the trunk.

NB : it's rightly called TCU ( Telematric Contol Unit )

I think he's referrring to the EGS which is aka TCM "tranmission control module"
It's placed different depending on car. eithe in box housing under hood or on transmission itself, not easily accessible.
