Tape weight removal
Think about the last time you put new tires on the 5 series.
Did the tire shop:
a) remove the old tape when they removed the tape weights or did they leave the old tape on the inside of the wheel?
b) clean the inside of the wheel in the area where the new tape weights were placed (or just place the weights on the wheel over the dirt and risk the weights shifting)?

Call me anal, but before I go to the tire shop, I remove all the weights myself and the tape and clean very well the entire wheel. I also don't want them taping new weights over dirt. The tape is difficult to remove and 3M adhesive remover seems to be the best thing.

Good idea removing the tape and dirt yourself.
I guess when you drive slowly to the tire shop you could tell your wheels were out of balance?

Never been a problem. Max 10 miles maybe to wherever I end up going...Costco usually, but sometimes Tire shop with TireRack tires.
