New 535,
Sorry to bother but did your SA show any documentation testifying that it wud be MY2006. According to the info available to the forum only cars with new gasoline engines might be MY2006 starting from March....

My Ride: 535d Sport (M sport steering, M sport sills, M sport suspension, 18inch M style wheels) Carbon black, black nasca, dark wood, dechromed, folding mirrors, extended lights, sun protect glazing, grad tinted winscreen, servotronic steering, heated, ventilated active comfort seats, extended voice control, hi-fi speakers, hud, active cruise, split folding rear seats, rear electric blind, rear manual blinds visbility pack (xenons, adaptive headlights), media pack (6 CD, prof nav, bluetooth with telematics and assist)
You are right, the engines on the new petrol models are changing and the engine in the 535d is the same, but the trim etc. changes accross the board - otherwise I wouldn't have been able to order ACC with the sport kit - that's new for RHD MY2006. And I've seen the new dealer options list - active backrest adjustment (new for MY2006), bluetooth with telematics (also new for MY2006), all only just became available and I've ordered them!

igor,
MY labels mean virtually nothing in the UK. The car trade here are more interest in registration dates as our car values are based upon this rather than manaufacturers model year cycles. Equipment upgrades are also generally ignored and only truely facelifted models affect used valuations i.e. the 2002 model year facelift on the E46 for example.

To be honest all I really cared about was having the nav shortcut buttons (apparently needed), the larger cubby (real lack of storage inside an e60), ACC with the sport kit (I never used cruise control, so I figured I might as well see if this will make me use it) and as a bonus the traction control updates. I don't care about the model year designation and I figured if I have to wait another few weeks, what the hell.

Oh and I forgot, servotronic steering now comes as standard, so you that basically pays for the 0.4% price increase.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were a whole host of other 'minor' non-listed tweaks as well...

We know about the modifications coming from March but still apparently they do not imply? the change of MY from 2005 to 2006.

But our friends in the US seem to not understand what MY means, and make a HUGE deal out of MY's. So, if they think the new engines make it a new MY, let them think. We know better.
