Not to be pessimistic here, but, when I took my first road-trip (down to Jupiter) right when I first got my car, I came back with a flat tire (and I have RTFs)... Then, I just took another road-trip in February (to St. Pete) and I came home with a cracked windshield (from a rock that was kicked-up by a car in front of me), a broken passenger thigh support, and a huge paint scratch just behind my front-right wheel on the underside of the body (must have kicked-up a rock from the tire).

Needless to say, I told my wife, that's the LAST road-trip I'm taking my baby on....we can take her car from now on... (Toyota Camry)...

And like neoe60, my commute is only 7 miles, via the expressway...

still planning on it Lee! What are your plans? Are you going up the day before or early morning run?
We can meet in Baltimore on Friday morning and drive up there. I'll send you a PM when it gets closer.

UPDATED:

Made it here yesterday, great trip overall. Car was flawless. Here is the IDrive Screen to show the stats. 25.5 MPG at mostly 80mph. It included two stops for gas one for lunch so a total of 35min. Our first stop was Fayettsville ,NC for Gas, I was so proud my son hung in there and did not need to stop for bathroom breaks more. He's a real trooper.

Oh got nailed by another cars door while at a rest stop. First dent since I got it. Trying not to think about it.
