There is no release. You put the wheel straight as you can then calibrate. It will zero out letting the car know this is the new position. Reset codes and that's it. You go to DSC then F6 (activate) then F3 (calibration).

Thats the part that's got me lol.... if I straighten the steering wheel then the wheels are not straight. "what had happened was...." one day I was screwing around and did the steering wheel calibration (in ISTA) it had me straighten the wheels... press ok, then straighten the steering wheel.... I thought it was crazy because I could literally spin the steering wheel and it didn't move the wheels.... apparently I hit ok when the steering wheel was about 45 degrees to the left (counter clockwise)...
I've NEVER removed the wheel so I thought there was a way to get in there and release the steering wheel... looking like some crazy stuff was going on and I'm gonna have to take out the air bag and straighten the steering wheel the old fashioned way =(

You don't have an electric steering rack. I don't see how it's possible in your car. There's onlyone way to calibrate in INPA, ISTA and Tool32. They all use the same execution.

THANK you so much for saying that, kinda thought I was going nuts.... smh. I pulled the engine and when i put it back in I must've turned the steering shaft! LMAO at least thats an ungodly easier fix then playing around in here. I'll straighten it tomorrow, run the calibration (which is SUPER easy in ISTA) and move on with life. Thank you for enduring me/this lol.
