So I just got my new wheels on a few weeks ago and the other day I hit a big pothole on the highway. It hit hard, it made my CD skip. Im not sure if its my imagination, but I think I feel some vibration that wasnt there before...
Anyhow, I was wondering if the cars flat tire monitoring system (not TPMS) would go off if I indeed damaged a rim? Also wouldnt the tire leak air?
However it doesnt seem that my alignment is off, the car doesnt pull to one side when I let go of the wheel. Also when I go faster it doesnt seem to make the ride worse. I would assume that a damaged rim would cause increasingly more vibration at higher speeds? That doesnt seem to be the case. I hope its just my imagination!

Get the rim spun up at a tyre shop, they will soon see if there is any run out.

Depending on the severity of the bend, you may feel a vibration, you may lose air, or you may see a bubble on the tire's sidewall, and the car's alignment may be off. Any, all, or none of these things could apply since it's all relative to the severity of the impact.
Don't forget that even if the car isn't pulling to one side, the alignment may be off enough to cause uneven tire wear, etc.

I have a mildly bent rim, also from a pot hole up here (aaarrrrghh!)... but here's the deal: I didn't know the rim (right front) was bent, until I changed tires. The tire shop showed me. No symptoms, at all, yet it is quite visible on the inside rim when viewed from the top down. Alignment checked to specs.

So if there are little to no symptoms then is there a problem with continuing to use the rim? Can that damage my car at all?
Thanks for the replys btw...
