I think DS mode changes shift points and allows for higher rpms within each gear... it does not change the suspension.

DS does not and the list mookish has posted does not pertain to DS either; it pertains to the sport button you get if you have the sports automatic option installed.
Regarding the sport button, I've wondered about this myself as I occasionally think it feels harder and is noisier on bad asphalt but it does not appear in the sparse documentation that it has any effect. That documentation is anyway not correct, as the transmission will engage 6th gear once you go above 220 km/h (roughly 140 mph).

Doesn't give specifics as to what "DS" does, just says "This position is recommended for a performance oriented driving style."
From my experience, shifting into DS just stretches the gears a little more. When you push the sport button, that's when a different all around software program is activated, and you feel it right away.

The DS mode does not effect the suspension. When you are in DS mode, you will find that 6th gear is not used and you will see that the trans will hold the gear longer and will not perform an immediate upshift when you get off the gas in the event you may get back in the gas. The S1-S6 show up in the cluster only when you have the Sport Trans option other wise it will always say DS no mater what gear you are in (except in manual mode).

Almost correct, but the car WILL upshift to sixth once you are north of 140 mph.

I was not disputing the fact that the care WILL shift to 6 once you hit 140. Besides, not many people are going to be testing to see if you are correct so I did not feel it was relevant to my response.
