I work for the plant in SC and im a supervisior. Regular employees can get the 3 / 5 / X5 / X3 / Z4 vehicles. Supervisiors and managers can get two vehicles and the 3 Convertibles. Mangers can get all and the 7.
Ah...and I assume you mean company cars like Russ1974 stated? What if you went out and bought yourself an M5? Is that a no no?

Yeah .. they are considered company cars .. then resold as demo's usually. If i went out and bought a m5, thats fine as long as i could make the payment, taxes, insurance. lol

LIES!!! we dont believe it... the 535 is just as fast as the 550. only 0.01 sec slower... or was it 0.02?

Ya... I dont think the 535 owners who has been backing the 535 up would like to see your mini review... I can hear it comming... but if I got the Vinshu chip it'll blow away the 550.

Yeah, but there is something to be said for the feel of the V8. I moved from a 4.4i X5 to a 535xi. I will say I miss the feel of driving the V8. When I decide to trade in again, I'm now leaning towards the 550.

'I have had the 528i and 535i sedan, but only managers at the plant are allowed to get the 550i?s. So I convinced my buddy who is a manager to let us swap cars for the weekend and he agreed!! I have had his 550i since Saturday and will give it back to him tomorrow. I thought the 535 had power, its NOTHING compared to the 550i.'

Talk about fueling the fire...lol

Yes 535 may be just as fast but its a "sneaky fast"...I believe you can tell the difference by seat of the pants between 300 HP and 300 .lb tq. VS. 360 HP and 360 .lb tq. Both cars achieve the same result but get there 2 different ways.
