Have an 06 530xi with about 55K miles. Recently I've noticed that the car sways when i reach about 70 MPH. It feels like I'm hydro-planing but the roads are dry. Kind of a scary feeling when you are on the highway. Anyone experience this in their car? Any idea what the problem may be?

That's what I was thinking at first. But when I'm NOT on highway speed the alignment is perfectly straight. I can take my hand off the steering wheel with no issue. On highway speed the car does not pull to the left or right. But it kind of just move back and forth. I feel like I'm on a boat.

Sounds like your shocks need replacing.

No run flats. Hopefully it's not my shocks. That sounds expensive. The car is still under cpo. Are shocks covered ?

Let me guess, non-Sport Package, right? I got one of these as a loaner once, and scared myself driving it home in the same manner I drive my 545i sport. Car wandered all over the place at speed. I will never have a non-sport x.

I didnt know that the XI had a sports package future in the 06. The car was fine for the past two years. Just recently this swaying is happening. Just trying to see if anyone else out there has had this problem.

i get similar feeling when i do over 130mph, and i assume thats due to me having an SE kit, so no aerodynamics and the car lifts a bit. i have normal suspension and non run-flats.

at 70mph the car should be stable as hell, no matter what tyres/suspension! especially if u get it in the dry, it means tyre contact is less meaningfull here, so that could be something mechanical.

BETTER GO TO PROFESSIONAL FOR ANALYSIS will be peace of mind at knowing the cause, and then ask for advice/varification here for most viable solution for this cause.
