I have a 2007 550i with stock body panels (bumpers and skirts). I have slight scraping on one side skirt at the bottom, which is hardly noticeable, except constantly by me. I could let it go, but I do like my cars as nice as they can be. I have found side skirts from a 2008 LCI 535i (in same color) to be available. I looked at the two cars side by side on the dealers lot and the side skirts appear identical. When I inquired at the parts desk, there are two different part numbers. part desk said, "they could be the same, but there might be some minor difference".

Does anyone have any knowledge of the interchangibility between the two? And don't tell me to get the aero kit, cuz I'm not going there

And please, just because I mentioned 550i and 535i in the same post, let's not go in that direction with this thread

thanks in advance

Al

Al , they are different , the 08 has a slighly lower profile line and makes the car look more aerodynamic .I have no idea if the fitment is the same but I would bet a body shop could make it work.I would get the skirt repaired and painted before changing them........... and if you were going to change them get an MTech kit and be done with it !! IMHO

Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I could probably have it repaired and be happy with it. And as much as I like the look of the Aero kit, I am not likely to go there.

I'd bet they fit. The sheet metal on the car hasn't changed with the LCI. The differences are likely in how the skirts were molded. The mounting points would then have to be identicial to the 2007.
