the forum has hundreds of threads about this. use the search tab with quotes for these:

"coilover"
"lowering springs"
"lowering"
"suspension height"
"KW"
"H&R"

in my opinion you should go with coilovers if you have the money. a popualr brand is KW, they are pricey but you can adjust the ride height as needed. if you want slxightly cheaper go for springs, with that you'll most likely need new shocks as well. Many members use H&R or Eibach. Hope that helps, peruse the forum..... they is gold at the end of the rainbow.

Get coilovers and don't look back. Adjustable ride hight, dampening, etc. Can't do that with springs. And with the cost of springs + new shocks, it is only a little cheaper than a full on budget or used coilover set.

Where in MA?
I'm dumped on Ksport coilovers. They are both height/damper adjustable and you can't beat the price. No complaints here. The ride is a little more harsh than OEM but its pretty much what I expected after the upgrade to coilovers and 20's and the handling is MUCH better.

Anyone know that wheel?

I loved my stance when I was set pretty low on my KWs and OEM 166's. I had a 12mm spacer in the back but could have fit a 15mm (I have a minor rear fender roll). Put a 12-15mm spacer on the rear and a 5mm spacer on the front and put coils on it and dump it and you'll look just like or even better than the picture you posted . Oh and for reference, with my front lip, I could barely fit my foot under my front bumper... looked sweet but I scraped every single day even going crazy wide on any hill or driveway.

Don't get me wrong and I know it's your ride and decision, but why cheapen a Bimmer by lowering it?
