Hi! Sorry I've been away for so long... Got examinations for a whole week. Anyways, I just saw the thread, umm... if you burn one folder of 2 channel sound and 1 folder of surround sound you can surely hear the difference. At least 10 of friends did it on their 5s and they all heard a difference, and non of them had L7, and they all used the OEM head-unit. So to sum it up, I reali don't have a clue why it doesn't work for you guys and I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong cuz its just simple drag and drop. Well some the of the songs I've had reali good sounds from are:

1. All My Life - KCi & JoJo
2. Air Force One - Nelly
3. Dilemma
4. Grillz

PS: Also try normalizing your mp3 after the conversion, so it brings up the low sound to parallel with the high sounds and I think you'll hear a difference. For the cars here in Thailand, we hear a big big difference, I have 10 friends who can vouch for that.

Just of the top of my head when snkpkp mentioned the codec. On our CLK, a European COMAND head-unit was supposedly able to read DVDs if it had the correct codec. Since all our cars in Thailand are imported from Europe we should have the codec but it didn't so we took it to the dealer and the dealer installed some codec for us and it read DVDs like a charm. So maybe BMWs have similar problems, about some head-unit having different codecs, so I'm reali not sure, we need an expert on this field. But if thats the case, then maybe (a small chance) that the cars here get different head-units therefore gets different codecs. This is just my speculation, anyone who knows more please help out. I dont want people to think that I just post things to tease everyone and get a laugh out of it. I just wanted to share my experience...

Hummm ok from what I understand other than the US other countries have 3 stereo systems... Regular, HiFi ( standard in the US), and Logic 7.

US only has 2.

Do you have HiFi system or the Regular 4 speaker system?

I have the HiFi system, with the two subs underneath my seat. Well if none of you get it to work then i guess I would have to apologize for wasting your time, but its working real good in my car and a lot of my friends' cars. If I find out anything new, I'll let everyone know...

I don't think you've wasted anyone's time at all. These applications take an existing mix and process them to emphasize or move the placement of certain sounds/frequencies in the stereo mix and/or bring others into the center, creating an (apparently) more open or spacious mix. If you listen to well recorded audio it's incredible what can be done with just two stereo channels and applications like this effectively "remix" the audio to open up the soundstage a little. Results are going to vary, some tracks will benefit, some will sound worse (to your ears). I use a plug in for iTunes called Volume Logic that does something similar by reprocessing the live audio output stream on the fly - and it works fantastically. Your application here is I suspect doing the same thing when processing the MP3 file. It's not creating 5.1 (you simply can't do that with a stereo system) but it's changing the placement and mix to create a different soundstage and image.

haha i tried using the songs that 525ise reccomended and i didnt hear much of a difference, however i didnt try the whole "normalizing" thing yet.... but maybe it has to do with the codecs installed in the US e60s, if any of you guyz out there tried this converter sucessfully in a us 5 series please let me know...

thanks in advance
