Question

hey guys.
i have a problem with a 2002 e65. when the vehicle is in gear and a/c is on. when sitting in idle the vehicle surges. the idle is really jumpy and jerks the car front to back. it feels like its going to die. anyone know what could be going on? any info on the problem would be great.

Can't tell for sure, but e60 has about a 700RPM level with A/C compressor on and 500/550 with A/C off. Your culprit could be many, from dirty injectors, time for plugs, baad gas ( engine load issue) dirty airfilter etc. thins that will affect idle.

or it could be a sensor malfunctioning.

It could be the compressor cycling on and off due to low refrigerant or other problem.
