surge coming off WOT

I've noticed lately when I start easing off the gas pedal from WOT, the revs will surge a few time as i'm letting off, and I can feel the car buck slightly as well. Doesn't do it during WOT, just as I am easing off the gas from WOT.
I know this isn't normal, because it just started about a month ago
Anyone have any idea what it might be?
