It's in the tilted position. When I try to shut or open it, it lowers down, then pops back up
I just had the car in for a new sun roof seal, so I don't know if it's a coincidence, or if they jacked something up when replacing the seal. Anyone have this prob. before? I called my SA and he said it sounds like it needs to be re-initialized. Weird thing is the sunroof worked fine yesterday after I picked the car up from the dealer

hello,

had the same issue 2 years ago. there's something wrong with the plastic lip that moves down when the roof is about to get into the final closing position. just hold it down with your finger, the roof will not hurt you and i think it'll close then.
there's a replacement kit for the issue known at BMW.
for the time beeing please try my suggestion.

Hey...thanks. Seem'd to do the trick
I'll keep testing it to see how long it will continue to work for. I think they must of messed with it when they did the seal, because on my way home from the dealer I could hear a tin rattle when i hit bumps, and it was that lip you mentioned. I pulled it down a little, and it doesn't rattle anymore......

Why did you open it again if you knew you were having issues with it? Or doe sit keep opening even after you got it shut with the lip hold down thing.
Hey at least it is not a HPFP issue.

Are you going to TW or T in T-town.

I opened it to see if it would keep working correctly, which it did for 5-6 openings/ closings, then the problem started again. I had zero issues before the new seal went in

What is TW & T Are you part of the local BMW chapter? They're doing a drive from Birmingham to Talladega tomorrow. Can't attend though

Yes I'm in the HOD CCA, I too can't make it due to having to go Appliance Shopping with the wife....

Tom Williams and Townsend are the two "local " dealer I was just wonder which one you went to.
